Uppercase Living

Check out my newest project! I ordered an etched "A" from Uppercase Living. If you do not know about Uppercase Living, you should check it out! It's basically a way to personalize items AND your home. If we weren't considering selling our house, I would have so many of their items on my walls. I have a big glass "canister type thing" that I keep 100-calorie snacks in. It is the perfect size and now with my monogram on it, it is even more perfect! :) Adding the "A" makes it look like it is some sort of expensive decoration and it is SO not! I did buy another item this time but I haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do with it yet so check back soon!

Happy Birthday Jacob!

April 24, 1988 was one of the best days of my life. On that day at the age of 7, I got what I had been asking God for most of my little, young life. For 7 years I had been begging Mom and Dad for a little brother or sister and finally I had gotten what I had wished for. He was the cutest, sweetest baby I had ever seen (granted at the age of 7, I hadn't been around too many babies). Bless his heart - he kind of grew up with 2 moms - our mom and ME! I tortured him when he was little. I would MAKE him sit in a school desk as I read story after story to him and all of my stuffed animals. Then, I would write questions on my monogrammed chalkboard (I know you guys are all shocked that I had a monogrammed chalkboard). Needless to say, he has EXCELLENT reading comprehension skills! HA!

Jacob and I have always been close and I am so blessed to have such a sweet and tenderhearted brother who would move mountains for me if I needed them moved! He is an awesome person and I love him more than I can ever tell him and I cannot imagine how our family would have been without him. I'm definitely glad I begged for a sibling! :)

I love you Jacob and Happy 21st Birthday!

This is a picture of us and the way we always sat in the recliner. I found this picture when I was cleaning out some keepsakes and scanned it in. How cute are we (even though my ribbon is all crazy on my head)

This is a picture from Christmas day at my parents' house.

Wordless Wednesday *

* I heart Etsy.com!! Etsy is fast becoming one of my favorite websites. I love looking at all of the crafty things that people are coming up with, including this adorable crocheted flower that I ordered for Minnie. I just got it today and I haven't had a chance to find a collar to match it so I just put it on her collar she already has. How adorable is this flower?? Of course, she can't stand it but I don't care....because sometimes fashion is a pain! HA! She doesn't really understand "stay" yet so getting her to be still for a picture is a hard task! Enjoy the pics and how cute my "little girl" is! ;) (So much for WORDLESS Wednesday...you guys know I can't just leave it with a picture)

Saltimbanco

Rob and I LOVE Cirque du Soleil! Last night we went with my parents and brother to see Saltimbanco which was here in Huntsville. It was a very fun and colorful show and their were lots of acrobatics which I wasn't really expecting since it is a traveling show. If you have never seen a Cirque du Soleil show, just check one out if you have the chance. Once you've seen one, you will want to see them all! I would pay money to see them all again, that's how great they are.

Saltimbanco is the 7th Cirque show that we have seen! So far we have seen O, Love, KA, Mystere (all in Las Vegas), La Nouba (Disney World), Delerium (traveling show we saw in Birmingham a few years ago), and now Saltimbanco. Rob and I are hooked and can't wait for the next one!

I didn't take any pictures of the night (bad blogger, I know). Anyway, here are a few images courtesy of cirquedusoleil.com.

Quote of the Day! (Yesterday)

"Some places play football. At Alabama, we live it."

Please keep in mind I am an Alabama fan (RTR)! Has the big head gotten to us or what? Remember, we have 5 months before the first down is even played. It always scares me when teams come across this way before the season even starts. This is just my opinion so DON'T take offense! I hope that I'm wrong and we go undefeated and win the National Championship! I guess we will have to wait until the fall to find out!

Wordless Wednesday!

If you have stalked (I use this word loosely because I haven't actually stalked people) as many blogs as I have you know about wordless Wednesdays! Lots of bloggers participate in Wordless Wednesday, where they post a picture but no words. I don't know how often I will participate in this but I had one to share this week! I will leave you with this:

Columbia, SC and Savannah, GA

On Thursday, Rob and I headed to Columbia, SC to watch our friend Josh graduate from Army Basic Training at Fort Jackson. It was a very quick trip and we didn't get to spend much time with him but we are very glad we got to witness such a milestone for him and we are very proud of his decision!

Rob, Josh, and me right after his graduation

Rob and me waiting on the graduation to begin
After graduation we headed south to Savannah, GA to meet up with my parents for the rest of the weekend. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency which ended up being a great place to stay because it is in the heart of it all - right at Bay Street and River Street. Friday night we had dinner at Uncle Bubba's (Paula Deen's brother's restaraunt) Here are a few pics from dinner:

On Saturday, we did a trolley tour of Savannah and got to see all of the beautiful homes and sites that have made Savannah such a great city!

Saturday night we did a ghost tour on a horse drawn carriage which was also lots of fun and very interesting. Then, we had dinner at Lady and Sons (Paula Deen's restaurant). Of course it was great food and I'm so glad we got to eat there because my dad is a HUGE Paula fan!

It was a great weekend and now I'm counting down until our next trip - our week at the beach in June! :)

My Saturday!

This morning I went with some girlfriends to the Junior League Spring Market at the VBC. They had some really interesting vendors but I only purchased a new toy for Buster and Sam and the cutest shirt for Minnie! It's pink with green felt balls on the bottom with a green bow. It is the cutest shirt and it is absolutely precious on her (if I do say so myself)! Don't ya think so?

I spent the rest of my Saturday here:

Yes I spent the rest of my Saturday working on MY LAST big paper for my Masters! (the stuffed animals on the bed are dog toys...honest) I am close to having the paper completed - just a little more tweaking! I'm almost done with this Masters program and if I EVER mention going back to school, somebody shoot me! :)
