WDW Pics

Here are a few of the pictures that we took. Our PhotoPass pictures have been ordered and I should receive the CD in the mail this week so I will post those as soon as I get them. We actually got some really good ones from the PhotoPass photographers.

This quartet sang "Happy Birthday" to myself and this other guy. It was cute!

I Have the BEST husband!

Rob and I are back from yet another wonderful week in Walt Disney World. I actually got to spend my birthday (Thursday, the 15th) there and it was definitely a magical day! As some of you know, I have a tendency to be a brat and had warned Rob before we left on the trip that I needed to have something to open on my birthday, even if it was really small. Well, Thursday morning while getting ready to go to the parks, I received a package at the door which included a Mickey head antenna topper. I was really curious WHY Rob would buy this, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to seem too bratty. So, we left for the Magic Kingdom and spent the day there!
After the park we went back to the resort to get ready for dinner at the California Grill at the Contemporary (our favorite restaurant). While we were gone, I had received a birthday card from Snow White, which was left in our room.

At dinner, Rob had arranged a WONDERFUL dinner with personalized menus!

When we finished our meal, the waiter brought out a birthday cake and a small wrapped box. Rob had arranged the entire evening through our resort concierge, who had in turn worked it out with the restaurant. If you've ever been to WDW, you understand what a task this was. Our resort transported my gift over to the Contemporary. The gift was a pair of earrings that match a ring that Rob bought me at Christmas!

It was such a magical birthday! Rob went to so much trouble to make it a special day and it definitely was! That's not to say that I wasn't upset about the antenna topper before I realized what was going on at dinner. He picked out the antenna topper just to get me going and to ensure that I would have something to open even though he knew it would aggrevate me. (My car doesn't even have an antenna) ;)

So now the title of this blog makes complete sense! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I HATE PACKING!

Can I just say that I love traveling but I absolutely HATE packing!! Anybody with me? Why do I have such a hard time with this? I will stress about what to pack for a week and Rob will pack one hour before we leave. How is that exactly?

I've Been Sucked into Twilight!

Well what can I say? I have been sucked into the world of the Twilight series! I decided to read the first book just to see what all of the fuss was about. Let me just say, in two weeks I have completed the first two books and bought the third one tonight. I have never enjoyed any sci-fi books or movies but for some unknown reason these books are addictive. I finished New Moon last night and was really upset that I didn't have Eclipse yet. I know it's crazy! If you are looking for something to read, go ahead and try it! You will become addicted!

Ringin' in the New Year!

My brother and my cousin Nolen came up and spent New Year's Eve with Rob and me. Jacob had been craving sushi and needed to do some shopping so he coaxed Nolen into coming with him. The last time we all had sushi, Nolen had chicken tempura and was upset because there was no ketchup. This time he decided to try something different which became our topic of conversation throughout the entire dinner. He decided on this dish which included udon noodles, egg, chicken, and green onion:

As you can see by the picture, this dish did not look appetizing. However, Nolen was a trooper and ate it! (Of course, later on in the evening he and Jacob made a Taco Bell run)
We had a great time with the guys and really hated that they couldn't stay longer. Here are some other pics from dinner.

This dish was a "on the house" dessert which is a Japanese tradition to bring good luck through the next year. (Japanese version of black eyed peas and collard greens) :) Needless to say, Rob was the only one at the table that will have good luck during 2009 since he's the only one of us that would eat it!

Happy 2009 Everyone!
