Godless Liberals, Really?

This morning I read a comment from someone on Facebook that said "Godless liberals." Let me just say "Wow," while I step up on my soap box. First off, let me say that I am a born-again Christian who is walking with Jesus the best way that I know how. I am FAR from perfect! In fact, I'm working very hard right now at giving all of my worries and problems to him (which is my biggest daily challenge). So NO, I'm not perfect and never will be!

Now, I'm also blessed to have been born in the United States and absolutely love my country. I do tend to lean towards liberal political viewpoints. That being said, here I go! I have always been taught and always believed that we, as Christians, are supposed to lead by example. Other people, non-believers, are supposed to see our lives and how we live and want to have that sort of life. This is the way we can witness to non-believers without having to shove religion down other people's throats. When we act as though we know it all or have all of the answers, this does not turn people on to Christianity. In fact, it kind of does the opposite! We don't have all of the answers and we absolutely do not know everything! According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, a hypocrite is a "person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings."I think we need to think about this when we are making these crazy accusations and assumptions! Christians who sit up on their high-horse and judge others really are not doing other Christians or non-believers any favors. Who are we to say that Republicans are Christians and Democrats are not? This is one of the most absurd statements someone can make! Guess what...I'm a Christian AND tend to lean liberal! Who are we to say who is a Christian and who isn't? It is our place to live like Christians the best way we can and be witnesses for non-believers, not to tell people what they are doing wrong or that they are making bad decisions! "Judge not, that you not be judged. For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you." Matthew 7:1-2

Okay so I'm climbing down off of my soap box. On to more pleasant things!
